My two owners manuals for my 13 go into detail about this I have to pull them out and take a look but there's a quite a bit of info on what you want to happen when you push buttons on the remote and how to make that so. I try to avoid the remote as much as possible and just stays in the car whatever.

Does the horn sound as expected when the button in the center of the steering wheel is pressed?

If not, troubleshoot the horn using the Repair Manual (more info) and Electrical Wiring Diagram. If so, then the 40 A P/I 2 fuse, integration relay, and high-pitched and low-pitched horn assemblies are good, and I’d suggest checking for a problem with an aftermarket alarm system or its wiring.

As @bisco mentions, the factory-installed wireless door lock control system uses the horn only as the panic alarm. There is an entirely separate wireless door lock buzzer, above the left front fender liner, that can be set to beep, or not, when the doors are locked or unlocked.
