2022 Prime or Wait for 2023 yikes!

It comes down to what's important to you. I would have gone for the LE with the preferred smaller screen except I wanted all the seat adjustments and the heated seats. I was told it was damn near impossible to get the limited and I really didn't want to pay the extra 2k anyway.

For me, I wouldn't get anything other than the Limited. Yea, I loose Android Auto, and real buttons.
However, imho, the added tech in the Limited, is still barely near the baseline for a 2022 new vehicle.
Check out a 2022 Rav4, any trim. The 2022 Prius looks like it has stone wheels, and is foot powered.
Compared to a 2022 Ford F150 Lighting, the 2022 Prius looks like rotted tree bark.

I know the tech, and I use the tech. Imho, the RSA could be so much better. However, imho, the non-supported, century-old software, makes it ~99% useless/PITA.
Sigh....
Still, for driving in new areas, it is useful.

It's so much better and safer than any dash mounted display.

 

Hey, I pine for heat/vent dials and sliders with tactile detents, that you used to be able to effectively use without taking eyes off the road. The current, narrow/uniform row of buttons, often multipurpose, squished below the infotainment screens, are a sorry pastiche. But we progress.

 

Interesting , I wonder how Toyota create it's packages in different contries.Here in Canada the equivalent of the Prime XLE is called Prius Prime Upgrade. It is very close to the american XLE but it offers RTCA ,BSM and heated steering, dont need to go for next package to get them

I’ve had white and blue but am thinking red next for safety. How many times have you looked both ways and then nearly pulled out into the path of an oncoming gray, black, tan etc vehicle? Especially in low light, rain, snow etc.
I’m thinking red might reduce that possibility at least somewhat.

 

FWIW, Classic Silver Metallic (1F7 IIRC) body colour is also a perfect match for silver painted rims. Probably the wheel covers too.

we stumbled into CSM when we bought out 2010; it was on the lot, and the cool CDN Touring level. Really like it.

 

Actually, red is the least visible color peripherally. Humans can't see color red if it's on their side. You can experiment with it by holding a red object to the side of your head with your arm extended.

Blue magnetism (spirited-aqua metallic) is very visible. Wind-chill pearl (white) is probably very visible, too. I think fog lights increase the visibility (for the others) at night. Auto-on lights in XLE and Limited help, too.

 

Yes, the low vis colors are popular. Partly because dealers want 'safe' colors than won't turn a potential buyer away.

Some shades of red also fade into the background just well though. Orange and yellow are among the best for being noticed, but since we are talking about Toyota's, your color option for safety is white.

Blue was one of the unsafe colors in the link I found. But that could be because most blue cars are of a darker shade.

 

Blue magnetism isn't blue. It is aqua. It is a lighter shade among Prius Prime color choices. It also has a lot of white paint mixed in, which makes it glow. At night it will appear darker, but you need to remember to turn your lights on regardless of your car's color.

With Prius Prime, I found out that the small headlights result in poor visibility for others at night, but the fog lights, only available in the Limited, greatly enhance the visibility for others. Since the small LED lights are now standard in most new Toyota vehicles, fog/driving lights are a must. If you don't have them in your trim, have some aftermarket fog/driving lights installed.

 

White (wind-chill pearl) could have poor visibility in snow, but you can turn on your headlights along with your driving/fog lights in snow to increase your visibility.
