Picked up a 2010 Prius 2 last month. After extensive front end work ( control arms, struts, ball joints….) got the abs/tcs/brake lights. Had the wheel sensors cleaned up and all seemed fine. Now getting intermittent abs/tcs lights only.

I’d like to find an OCB2 reader/app that will read the codes, do some diagnostics, and I’d love to turn off the back up and seat belts alarms.
I purchased a mini-vci kit off eBay and am returning it. I should have known better.

    What’s a reliable code reader that’s basically plug-n-play ?

    thanks !!

The seat belt alarm and the likes of that I don't think you can turn off locate it and squirt it full of caulk or something. Goop etc . That's the best thing to do with buzzers and speakers and whatnot rather than cutting wires and undoing things sometimes it'll turn a light on in some scenario so I just feel them with something that makes them not speak anymore or beep or whatever.

There is a thread comparing a bunch of options. The thread is specific to Gen 2 because those are the cars mr_guy_mann has been testing on, but it should be a good starting place for a tool for a Gen 3.

If you have current brake/abs/vsc warning lights showing, you do not have to wait for a final answer to your scan tool question. The simple method of using a short jumper wire between Tc and CG and counting flashes of the dash lights, as you can read about in many existing threads here, will get you the codes you need to know what the brake system is complaining about.

I went with Carvista reader and app. It reads my abs/tc error( right front sensor obstructed) and clears it. I also turned off back up and seat belt alarms. I was disappointed it wouldn’t do anything for tpms.

You cannot turn off . TPMS in tec stream. I don't think you can on any or many cars . Seems to me whilst I had display apart remove that led for TPMS lamp.
