I’m wondering what the problem might be. The reservoir is full to the max line with brake fluid. Drove around a bit and stayed at the same level, brake warning light is on, but I’m not entirely sure what’s causing the c1202 to come on. I also have code c1259.
The repair manual says C1202 means one of these three things happened: The ignition switch was ON and the fluid level switch circuit appeared open for two seconds or more. The car was driven faster than 3 MPH* and the fluid level was indicated low for 10 seconds or more. The car was stopped and the level was indicated low for 5 seconds or more. Next step is to break out a meter and look for a reason for one of those things happening. A couple pages of suggestions can be found in the repair manual, but they're pretty straightforward. * it really says "3 km/h (5 mph)", which is clearly backwards; the higher number has to be the km/h
I'm gonna take this car to the dealer and find out more of what it is, have to fix the drive belt and clutch pulley. Thanks for all the diagnostic help so far.
I would not go to a dealer. Ask around the area where you live. They is very likely a locally owned independent shop that will have expertise on hybrids and Prius in particular. You will very likely get far better service at much lower cost.
If you're talking about south main auto LLC, which has the YouTube channel, I am around 4 hours and 30 minutes away from them unfortunately. I have yet to take the car anywhere because, tomorrow I will fix the A/C clutch, and get a new belt, as I just realized, the car does not have a drive belt! If anybody knows any decent mechanic in NY, specifically in the city/Brooklyn, please let me know.
Wait, are you saying you have a Gen 1 and the belt is gone? Yikes. Yes, get a belt. It drives the engine cooling water pump, not just the A/C.
