I have a 2021 Prius. When I backup my car this morning, the Parking Aid Sensor were on but it seems missing the front piece (see attached). After pumping the gas, when I pulled out off the station (forward), the front piece seems on again. Is this normal? thanks Dropbox - DSC_0003.JPG
IIRC, my front detectors are blank while backing. Perhaps RCTA (rear cross traffic alert) and other functions are allocated priority over front sensors when backing up? To be honest, I ignore the grayed zoned patterns until a zone goes active.
The reason I asked was because I just replaced the front bumper and the grille shutter. I saw the front grayed zoned patterns was missing and was just wondering if that was normal. thanks
Well if they didn’t glue them back into place then they may fall inside the bumper. Or maybe they gave you a bumper with no openings and just left them inside. Hopefully the sensors still have a wire on them. You’ll have to take off the bumper cover to look at the sensor. I had to do this as well because they kind of slipped inside because the double sticky tape they used failed. I ended up supergluing them in place and had no more issues. iPad ? Pro
