My car is rolling at 100k miles now all good no issue, but as preventive maintenance is ok to clean the throttle body Or leave it alone?
If it ain't broke, don't fix it. You could take the entire engine apart and clean it as a preventative measure, but if it's not displaying any symptoms it just seems to me that you're more likely to cause a problem than prevent one.
Yes. It's okay to clean it. Be sure to use throttle body cleaner or injector cleaner. Wipe down with a soft cloth (that you don't care about getting dirty). Reside from oil, water, carbon and whatever else from the crankcase will hit the butterfly and overtime it can build up. 100k miles seems like a good time. I have known motorheads/gearheads to do it every 3,000 miles.
