Wildkow~ OMG! I took it out after work, it white smoked the tires thru all 4 gears!!!!   Haven't done that in 10 years... The draw back was I saw the gas gauge move.. Wont be doing that again.... Man started at a dead stop tires stopped spinning at 60mph I was lookin at 110mph in a mile maybe a little over..... I still have to put the factory stripe kit on it & replace the cracked grill... I'll post pics before I get the stripes put on... I have to find the darn cable to my digital camera... I put it in a safe place so I wouldnt lose it.....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(priusguy04 @ Oct 26 2006, 06:17 AM) </div> What engine's the Q code? I used to own a '65 A code coupe, still miss it. Could break 14 MPG if I kept my foot out of the 4 bbl.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Beryl Octet @ Oct 26 2006, 10:10 PM) </div> "Q" code = 4v 351 cobra jet 280 hp "R" code = 4v 351 HO 286 hp "H" code = 2v 351c 190hp Nice you had the "A" code that would have been a 4v 289, nice Yeah the 71-73 mustangs where the biggest bodied mustangs made and were not as sought after as the 64 -70 body styles. Then in 74-78 the mustang dropped in size to the baby mustang and had the pinto like interior & offered a 4cyl, 6cyl & a 8cyl the 8cyl (was a 302) due to the gas crunchs of the 70s..
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Beryl Octet @ Oct 26 2006, 09:10 PM) </div> Hey, wow...I used to have a '65 Mustang GT 'K' car (the coupe, and I wished I'd purchased a fastback instead), with the solid lifter 271hp 289 v8 and a four speed...this talk of codes is bringing me back to "the day"! The only problem was that it didn't have power steering and parallel parking was a DRAG!
Here it is!! (my Avatar) I just found out this is one of 201 made with the 351 CJ w/factory 4spd manual tranny.. To men classic cars are like fine women, nice lines and curves in all the right places.. I only drive it on weekends when its not raining, And can you believe it ? It still gets 14 mpg!!! Hmmmm, it wont let me post the full sized pic or an avatar sized pic, says my global limit is too much... oh well check out the avatar! B)
