Unless you can find a unicorn low mile gen2, I would go for a gen4, 2016 or newer excluding the 2016-17 Prius v wagon. Given these won't be the "cheaper the better" you are much better off buying a conventional Corolla, Camry or Civic under 150,000 miles in your price range. Even then I would spend a couple hundred for a dealer inspection.
