Is there a thread for Gen 4 Wheels?

Here’s my gen 4 with 17” enkei wheels on stock suspension and 215/45/17 tires.. no rubbing issues and no fitment issues.. could use a moderate drop to compensate the wheel gap but it ride comfort is great and I feel like it handles a bit better as well. MPG wise, I feel like I lost 1 mpg but that’s not too bad considering the Prius looks good with upsized wheels from the 15” stocks.. most people say I could’ve went 18 but I like the look of 17’s..

 

OP, curious why you went with the 15 inchers?

With the expense of new wheels, I would have gone with the 16s, rather than the same size as stock.

I agree, that the Gen 4 stock wheels look pretty good without the plastic wheel covers. GL with the centercap project.

Some of us appreciate the speed and mileage gains to be had in the 15" size. I guess for slower states, and state with a lot more tight curves where handling matters, larger wheels would be OK.

I like the acceleration of my Gen4, and prefer to keep it that way. To even try to maintain that with a larger wheel, it would have to be a lighter wheel than the OEM 15" - and that sounds expensive (or frail) as heck.

Plenty of wheel threads in the Gen4 forum - I'm surprised padroo couldn't find one.

These wheels look amazing on your Prius. I have tried sourcing other Toyota wheels but don't seem to find them in 5x100. Are these 5x100 bolt pattern or is there some kind of adapter used? Apologies if this is a dumb question as I am not a wheel expert. I desparatly want to upgrade my 2019 wheels as I am needing new tires soon.

 

Corolla wheels are 5x100 and the offsets are compatible with the Prius.

Those look awesome! Did you need 3mm spacers to clear the calipers? What about the speedo error? MPG hit?

 

19" on 4th Gen

 

Boy that fitment is mint! If it weren't for MPG impact, 19s would be perfect. How much of a hit on MPG did you take?

 

Driving 7~8 months out of the year on our original 17" setup, then through winter on 15" Michelin X-Ice (on 15" steel Corolla rims), the mpg is neck-and-neck. In other words: in winter, on (15") snow tires, I'm getting same mpg as summer, on (17") all-seasons. Both scenarios are pretty good though, can't complain.

 

I can't get a read on how your drive from your fuelly, but I'd reckon a bet that anyone who drove conservatively could get similar fuel readings. On the flip side, those of us ... um ... forcing the issue will notice the difference the inertial drag of the wheel weight on both economy and zero-to-60 times.

 

I did not need any spacers. The wheels fit perfectly and we’re a direct bolt on. I definitely noticed a significant mpg hit. There is one particular drive that I do regularly, about 15 miles long, and I have noticed about an 8mpg decrease.

Sorry I don't know the answer to that question. When I look up the springs, it doesn't specifically list the Prime, but does list every other trim of Prius.
