2021 Prius LE with 12,000 miles. Live in Wisconsin where the roads are not the greatest. Over the summer with the windows down I have noticed noise/rattles when one of the wheels hits a bump, indentation, whatever. This occurs with all 4 wheels. Brake hardware rattling or other issue? Thanks.

    welcome!

does the sound area change depending on the wheel that hits?

It's hard to tell the difference for each wheel. I was just wondering if noisy disc brake hardware is a known issue.

I would definitely take it in to the dealer and have them check the brakes/suspension. Offer to drive the mechanic so they can hear the sounds it makes.

The Prius is a heavier than normal car due to the heavy traction battery, motor/generator, and all the hybrid hardware, with minimal sound insulation to save weight.

I'd say that the sounds you might be hearing is normal, and that you never noticed the sounds before with the windows rolled up. Also, the fact that all four wheels are making the same sounds. The odds of something wrong with all four wheels/suspension is low.
