Does anyone know if these dash cams would work with the Prius Prime? The Avalon / Corolla models look like the best fit. Amazon.com: FITCAMX: TOYOTA
It would most likely fit, but I would not really mess with a part that houses a camera for sign recognition and maybe more safety sensors. Right now, I am considering getting Viofo A129 Pro (with rear cam) - it is fitted on the glass, but picture quality is really nice, it's cheap, and you can hardwire it as well (plus it has GPS). Probably the only cam I would trust to harness Toyota systems is Comma, but that's another beast entirely.
Can any techs please chime in here? The module draws power for the front camera by using a harness to split the dynamic cruise control functionality which sounds very scary if you ask me, just wanted to know if any techs think that’s ok?
I installed a Fitcamx 4K last year in less than 30 minutes and it has worked flawlessly. No wire routing or other hassles and looks like a factory installed option. Highly recommend it!
I don't know but my Z-Edge cost just $100 it also has a rear dash camera. It is wired but it's easy to gently lift up the car trim and tuck it in there. It connects wirelessly to a smart phone so you can see and download videos.
I've had the Fitcam X installed since last November and it's been perfect. No issues at all with the radar cruise control which I use just about every day. Can't recommend this camera enough!!
I installed a Fitcam X in my BMW 430i. I am very pleased with it. I did not install one in my Prime when I owned it. The only comment that I have is with the BMW, there was a small place to work and you need strong fingers to unplug and replug connectors. I did not purchase the rear cam.
