In the state like Colorado you should be able to find somebody like the hybrid doctor in Virginia or you can buy a rack of cells balanced within three Delta shipped to you Good Lord I want to say 599 or something is what I paid and he did me right The battery is doing very well this is an a Gen 3 but the two is similar far as this battery goes and that was a smoking deal because in my other '09 I put in a $1,400 brand new Toyota battery before I met the hybrid doctor guy and I probably would have done the same in the '09 had I known he was around and could do this good of a job his outfit doesn't really nice job so that's what I did for my gym 3. That's what I would do and keep it as long as possible or until I had EV money or something

 

Well, on the list of "possible" large expenses is replacing the brake actuator assembly. $1-2k ?

Recondition and replace any bad modules for a few hundred dollars

I had farm tags and a tow hook on my 2005 for about a year, hauling tools and hydraulic cylinders in the field, then put tags on it again and drive it daily, coming up on 300k miles, all I have done is maintenance stuff and rebuilt the battery 7 years ago.

Tow hook was to drag it out of the fields.

 

you could replace the bad modules if you can DIY, really cheap route. If that doesn't work then buy a refurb pack for 1.5k.. 130k still has lots of life left.

Is that $3k NEW battery in dealership? or it's just a refurb/reconditioned with dealer markup?

 

i would install a new oem battery. the rest of the car has a lot of life left in it, even if you have to spend a few thousand every so often.
shop around with dealers you're willing to drive to, batteries are competitive
see the prices of new and used vehicles to help make your decision

they are still available, but mostly on b/o. some have had success, surprisingly, a few dealers still have some, or got a shipment

 

good deal, cause that's totally not the info I was given from the largest dealer in the delmarva.

 

wishful thinking but I believe Panasonic no longer sell this, try looking for dealers online and you'll see that they no longer sell this.

 

yeah caused actually, panasonic only has one customer, and if they don't order, they don't build em.

i think the clue was the firesale they had to get them out of inventory for 1,500 bucks.

if this was a supply chain issue, i dont think toyota would have let them cut the price in half when they would be needing them for repairs at dealers.

Toyota probably took the lead from the usa automaker that just stopped making an entire battery for their ev leaving the customer high and dry, just buy a new car lol
