So i bought this used 2008 prius but i am only getting max 25mpg wich means that each pip goes around 17 miles. I diagnosed it in a workship and no catalytic convertor was there + the o2 sensor needs cleaning. Now some expert told me that first i should but a calatic convertor because it might fix the problem since the o2 sensor is connected to it. The thing is that it is way too expensive so i am planning to buy a copy version of it. Do you think the getting a catalyzer will fix my mileage problem? If not should I put o2 sensors on my top priority?.
Or just replace the sensor and put a straight pipe in place of the missing converter Options after a CAT theft | PriusChat
The hybrid battery modules are in series so only takes one failing module to kill the whole pack. you have poor mileage because your hybrid battery is bad. Hybrid battery supply’s most of the power in a Prius.
May want to download Dr Prius app and get more info yourself as you drive. Even the free version is useful.
