If your willing to come into NYC, I can introduce you to my fabricator. He loved working on my Prius, and he said it was the first of his kind.

Definately don't go bigger than 22... Although I am happy with the looks I am unable to turn my wheel all the way because the rim rubs. I would strongly advise not to tow with these cars, unless you add a tranny cooler. Even then the most I would tow is a Segway... heheheh

Rats, I was hoping to tow my rowboat.

But if I ever make it up there I'll let you know!

Couldn't that be dangerous having the rims rubbing? I'm dying to see some pics of this mod!

Tow, tow, tow your boat, safely all the way....sorry. :)

I would imagine that 22 inch wheels will affect your acceleration to the point where it's nonexistent, and it's not exactly wonderful as it is. And if you can't use the full range of steering, well, that could be downright dangerous. The things we do for looks...

I still don't know. Shark fin or steering wheel skin mod. Maybe I should flip a coin, or just save: "A penny saved, is a penny earned." How much do you think a carbon fiber hood would reduce the total package??

I doubt I could get one of these for 100 bucks but it could be worth saving for.

The hood's aluminum or something already, and pretty light as it is.

Why don't you get your head out of your nice person and not knock him for trying something different. Maybe he didn't make the best decision, but judge him a little more why don't ya.

There's different, and then there's stupid. If the guy had bothered to do the barest minimum of research, he would have found that this modification seriously hampers the performance and safety of his vehicle. That's stupid. Galaxee's post had nothing personal, but you've chosen to insult her for calling a spade a spade. And you've got what, 8 posts now? Don't blow it, Suckit.

BTW, the offending thread at the attacking forum has been closed, the moderators have addressed the issue and will take any necessary action. I do NOT want to find out about anyone here reacting, starting a flame war, trolling or anything like that or you'll be suspended here. Let us rise above that stuff OK.

just so we can laugh back at them...

"who wants to photoshop a prius riding on 22s? Has to look legit so we can proove ourselves to this Prius community."

"I can hardly stand to be mean to these people. They are being so friggin nice to us."

"I like how we are all SLOOOOOOOOOOWLY sucking them in with innocent posts just so they don't think we are trolls."

"It is damn funny, but you are right about them being so nice. It is tough."

"hahah xr72 is getting called on the 22's"

... y'know, they weren't the worst of trolls... by far... and they even thought we were nice. i find it all the funnier.

don't worry guys... no flame war will ensue. but really, ya gotta give us more credit than you did. come on- a prius on 22s? and not all of us are smug, in saying that you're lumping all of us together and that's narrow minded... (hello, pot? this is kettle calling)

What? No back link so we can say, "thank you?"

If they think the Prius is such a chick magnet, imagine what they'd think of EVs! :)

Now I'm kind of curious myself what a Prius on 22's might look like. tirerack.com will let me see a Prius with 17's, and if I were decent with photoshop, it'd probably be simple to scale up from there. But since I'm not, I was looking at some of the pics in the google (oblig. political ref), and came across the LSR car. I don't know if it has 22's, and I'm sure they didn't care about how it steered or stopped, but these have to be at least 20's, if not bigger.

On edit: the article says "Even the 26 in front and 25 in rear tyres were made especially by Goodyear." That's got to be the outside diameter of the tires, though, right?
