Humor me here, say I found a way to increase my EV range, using another battery, how should I capture proof of this so that when I post online folks can't say its movie magic? So far its with another OEM Toyota Battery, I'm sure one of you smart folks know which vehicle it came from... the next step on the roadmap is to have a Lithium Deep Cycle Battery made, I want 100+ miles EV range and that's my goal. Would you believe me if I said I've also been able to modify the ECU of the Plugin Prius to not only get longer range but also more horsepower out of the Prius? So far all the work has been on a 2013 Plugin. [below: this is the 2.0l Lexus UX250h motor, the M20A-FXS going into my PIP]
Ha! Wel, the Japan spec ECU I'm using to determine which values can be changed was my first step in the right direction.
I got into ECU hacking on my old Subaru, so I know it's possible. And I drove some really fun results. I also know it's hard to get it right and easy to get it wrong. I don't play in that space any more- lots of respect to those who still do!
The best way I would say is an uninterrupted video of the drive. Two camera views, a la YouTube auto reviews. One of the center dash with the energy meter and the HSI. And one behind the left shoulder of the driver showing the road ahead and the steering wheel. For hp, I need to see the dyno charts. It'll only be a 25 minute video? Yeah, I'd be very skeptical as I would think it'll cost more to upgrade the 2013 than to purchase a used Prime.
the japen spec phv ecu I have makes it easier... able to compare the two... now need a ct250 ecu to compare.
how many miles do you get on a full charge? id be curious to know the part number of the ecu in the engine bay...
