Racing is about a LOT more than going fast. Ever enter a SOLO race? Ever hear of cross-country ralleys? Ever hear of a MPG challenge? All races - all very competitive - all tons of fun!

Yes I've done SCCA Solo II, the object is to be the fastest through the cones. Rally races are about having the fastest time through the stages. I have never seen or heard of an MPG challenge, it sounds like the lamest form of motorsport imaginable.

I have driven cars that were slow and the TDI may not be fast but it has to me at least 10.

Researching it a bit has found me to be right, around 11 give or take.

One issue is changing gears so much since you run out of engine at 4500rpm and it revs slower at that.

Otherwise it would be slightly faster, certainly doesn't feel it though.

The lastest craze in Englishtown has been "Slowest 1320 Challenge." Unfortunately the events won't start up again till next years.
