My 2012 v3 always reads three or four percent high on the speed. So something must be different with your swap. However the obd2 data reads accurately. Which is the reason I added speed and engine temp on an auxiliary P10 display.

VSS isnt in or on the engine so not related to the swap.

Nope it'd been sitting in the garage. I'm going to start throwing parts at it to see what will make it start. I've read several articles here and maybe they'll help lead the way.

Did anyone ever figure out the overheating issue ? I did the swap. And I have the overheating problem. I’ve used the gen3 and gen4 water pumps, removed the jiggle pin and it’s at 12 o’clock position, straighten the water pipe from the pump to the egr, tried to remove as much air out of the system as advised in videos. I’m using the old gen 3 egr setup. Been all over the internet reading , watched YouTube videos. I keep burning up water pumps. It’s getting expensive now. Please help.

New poster long time lurker. I just performed this swap In less than a day. I had to modify the 3rd Gen egr cooler and cooling lines quite significantly. A lot of cutting and grinding. It’s definitely not as straight forward as I’d hoped.
I’ve been driving the car for a couple weeks and it drives flawlessly. I think I’m 1 of 2 driving a 3rd Gen with a lithium pack and a 4th Gen motor. Pretty cool

if anyone is wanting this swap done I wouldn’t mind traveling and doing this swap in your garage, or mine if your local. I’d charge less than these shops. Feel free to message me if interested. Or if you just need general help I’m Always willing to give advice or offer a lending hand.

I could use some help. I’m having the overheating issue. Replaced the thermostat and that helped, but still overheating going up hills. I was going to remove the jiggle pin and start there. Do you have any idea what else could cause the overheating?

Did you ever figure it out? I cut the jiggle pin and I’m still having issues with overheating too.

Any updates from the peeps on the overheating issues? I'm about to start a swap of my own. Got a 2010 Prius hatch back 156K mi and am planning on using a 2021 JDM engine. Fingers crossed no air bubbles or over heating issues!

Also- is it worth putting on a catch can after the gen 3 to gen 4 engine swap? I'm wanting to swap it out this week and I've spent all my time reading up on the engine swap and none on the catch can stuff....
