So my 2016 touring 3 had a bunch of wires ate up by something. Basically right under the battery. So I re connected the ones that made sense and got my fog lights and horn working. But there are a bunch of the same color wires, like 6 brown wires that I don't want to just connect without knowing. My check engine light is on for my grille shutter and I forget what other code but something about a module can't connect. And all my front alert stuff is going nuts on the dash too.. any help to wire diagrams or any help at all would be appreciated.
Sorry to hear about your mouse problems. I can't help you with the wiring diagram or repairing the damage, but I am currently trying to deal with a mouse infestation in my vehicle (2021 PP). You might want to read some of the stuff I have uploaded there to help prevent this from happening again. I was lucky that mice did not chew on wires or cause obvious serious damage under the hood, but I don't want to give them another chance. Mouse nesting locations in the Prius Prime | PriusChat
Your various options for getting the wiring diagrams are covered here: Toyota Service Information and Where To Find It | PriusChat There is probably a network of isolated grounds for important engine sensors using brown wires (different from Toyota's normal color for general grounds, which is white with a black stripe). So if you have a bunch of brown wires damaged, it's possible you might have less of a puzzle there than it could be. But I definitely wouldn't advise making any guesses. Use the diagrams and a meter.
How's your insurance; file a claim? Catastrophic rodent damage can total a car, or make you wish it would be totaled.
Yep, I agree....our Gen 4's are showing 44 computers when I hook up my OBD2 scanner....holy moly! We've had good luck, the past 15 years, preventing mice/rats from doing damage in our RV camper by leaving cut up pieces of Irish Spring soap all over the place...they supposedly hate the smell and won't stick around.
I had mouse damage on my 2019 Prius. Thankfully Insurance covered($18,000) it under comprehensive as it is an act of nature. The dealer said that if the vehicle was older it probably would have been totaled.
