My A/C has not been working for quite sometime. I have a 2012 prius which had a blow/leaking head gasket. Upon repairing the head gasket, coolant got into the a/c compressor plug on top and has not worked since even after drying out. So I replaced the compressor with used one of ebay and changed the condenser while i was at it. After that I took it up to Toyota and asked them to vacuum and recharge the system. They said it's showing the DTC b1498/98 on the climate control display and that it needs a new compressor. I seriously doubt that's what the actual issue is since i changed the compressor already and it does not seem to be getting any power that I can tell.

Anyway, the diagnostic procedure linked here B1498/98.

Shows Inspect IG-B RELAY as the 2nd step once after checking the DTC's.

I've looked at all the fuse diagrams but I can't seem to find the IG-B Relay anywhere. Does anyone know where this is?

Here is the diagram of the system for reference

You can get endlessly entertained googling up repair manual excerpts for the wrong cars. There is no IG-B relay in a Gen 3 Prius. We have that IG terminal at the compressor supplied from the 10 amp "A/C" fuse, switched by the "IG1 No. 1" relay, which you won't easily find because it's an internal component of the Instrument Panel Junction Block.

If you look up the same diagnostic procedure, but in a Gen 3 Prius repair manual, the diagnostic steps should be easier to follow.

"So I replaced the compressor with used one of ebay"
How do you KNOW it's working???? Because the seller on ebay says it does?

Your right I don't know that it's working but I need to go through the troubleshooting process to make sure rather than just throwing a new compressor at it.

Update: I figured out what the problem was. I replaced the hv fuse inside of the inverter. That was blown apparently and not supplying power to the a/c compressor.
