Hey everyone, Kindly suggest for Prius Gen3 heatup issues specifically when the car is running on power mode at hilly highway, changes water body & assembly as well but still same issue occur, can somebody suggest in this regard !!
Any warning lights? OR just radiator fan running more often? Having air in the cooling system can cause this problem. Also a clogged EGR valve can be a contributing problem...
How long have you had the car? have you checked the radiator condition? mine did the same and it was due to a clogged radiator because the previous owner used plain water instead of coolant in the ICE reservoir i don't know for how long
146K Driven No oil level is ok Changes Whole engine, water body & radiator as well But still not working Yes that also matter Bought it 2Months ago Changes Radiator Water body but still same problem Get engine heatup signal when driving uphills continuously Air Pressure in coolant bottle
sometimes on an engine replacement, the egr circuit is ignored. maybe the coolant wasn't bled properly
If I understand correctly, you have a problem with overheating under load (i.e. going up long hills) and have replaced the engine, coolant, and radiator. Have you replaced the thermostat? Have you replaced the water pump? Are you losing coolant? If you turn the heater on, does the car blow warm air steadily from the vents or does it sometimes blow hot air and sometimes lukewarm air? Have you used any "stop leak" type products in the past?
I would verify through a scanner what the temperature reads when you get the warning light. A picture of the warning light would help. Some have confused another light for the temperature warning.
Yes thermostat also replaced. Water replaced with engine. Bro in Pakistan mostly temp goes up to 45-50C I don’t think so we can check warm air in summer. Yes previous radiator was leaked & replaced with new1
You can still run the heater when it is 40-50 degrees C. It won't be pleasant (even with the windows down), but it is just a simple diagnostic test to see if there is air in the cooling system. If there is air in the lines, the heater will blow really hot sometimes and then suddenly blow cool(er) air even though you did not change the settings.
It seems that the electric water pump & radiator fans are original? There's also a chance you installed a counterfeit part that is actually bad/defective. I'm going to assume that all the parts you installed are good and working properly. Check your radiator fans to see if they are functioning. Check your water pump. Dirt or debris from all the previous work could've gotten in the cooling system and is intermittently jamming up the plastic components of the water pump. Good Luck....
