Today I went to check if my brake fluid is good or bad with the fluid pen but I notice after I dip the pen into the master cylinder I hit some sort of plate. The plate is exactly between the max and minimum level. My brake fluid was right in the middle of the level. The plastic piece in the middle is not like the 3rd Gen where you can remove it. So right now I scratching my head because usually you can just dip the pen in the fluid and check it.
It's not like the circle plastic piece in the 3rd Gen. It's like a plate in the middle that I think you cannot remove out of the bottle neck.
Couple ideas: Could you fish any sort of skinny tube down in there, and use some kind of squeeze bulb to draw up enough fluid to test? Or would a test strip be easier to poke down there than the electrical gizmo? Or, crack open a bleeder at a wheel and take a small sample that way, test it, and add a bit of fresh fluid at the reservoir (if the test result is good and you decide not to replace it all).
I'm gonna take a picture inside of the Bottle neck probably today and upload it! Thanks for the reply
