My mom just swapped her 2016 Auris touring sport active S up for a 2016 Prius executive, i did not expect such a huge difference... Its way quiter and feels much stiffer while at the same time being comfortable. And at highway driving it doesnt feel like the car is about to take off when wind picks up.

Did the first oil change on my 21 Prius Saturday...super fast and easy with the spin-on filter. (Will be changing out my wife's cannister in her 2017 Prius with the same.) Folks are right about that OW-16 oil...it's very thin oil...probably the reason the 21 gets over 5 mpg more than the 2017. (But I won't use OW-16 in the 2017, it calls for OW-20)
My wife liked the black Winunite Car Door edging I installed all around my four doors (and under the back tailgate) so much she asked for me to install it on her 2017 Prius. They had the option of 32 feet for $18.71 and it did her whole car with leftover...I may see if there's enough leftover to also do my Tundra.

Makes you wonder if these super lightweight oils will cause issues down the road. I'm *sure* Toyota has done all the testing necessary to ensure it won't be an issue ( cough cough ). But with all the Gen3 issues it makes me wonder.

Well Toyota first started using OW-16 in 2016 in the A25A-FKS (2.5 D-4S) engines and I haven't heard anything negative that would indicate problems with the lighter oil.
But all the more reason to stay on top of regular maintenance. I know way too many people who go years without doing anything to their vehicles except refilling and then wonder why stuff is starting to have problems. DUH!

Well...2016 isn't long term ( in terms of Prius ownership)...so the jury is still out. More likely issues, if any, will start showing up in a few more years. However, I'm hoping for the best! (y)

Bought metallic screen sunshades for front and back, and also for the steering wheel.

It gets hot quickly with all that glass! :D:cool:

Don't they come standard on any spec?
My EU luxury has them, also with a small blinker on the extremity.

Last week, we had crazy 60+ mph winds blowing down and when I got home, the left-rear Goodyear side window deflector was gone...must've gotten blown right off. They were barely 8-months old so I emailed them and they sent free replacements out.
Yesterday, the right-front was rattling while driving so I checked it when I got home the double-sided adhesive was almost halfway lose, so I ended up removing it and the others. (Not impressed with how easy they were to come off.)
Not sure if I'm going to install the new ones or not....don't want to have to be continually having to replace/repair them.

I normally do all my vehicle's maintenance but, on Thursday, took my 21 Prius AWD to our dealership (Corwin Toyota in Colorado Springs) because it's free for two years. I've gone there for almost 20-years, now. They just did the 10k service, oil/oil filter and rotated tires. On the inventory, I noticed they filled it with 0W-20 instead of the 0W-16 but figured they must've been out of the correct weight. When I got home, I checked the oil level and my mouth dropped...it was overfilled...and not by a little, looks like the knucklehead technician put in 5.0 qts instead of 4.3.
So, I drove it up on my ramps, drained it out, and filled with 0W-16. Corwin Toyota sent me an email asking for my opinion on their "service" and I gave them POOR and said, "Corwin needs to train their technicians better"
The dealership used to be LH Miller Toyota and recently was renamed Corwin...not sure why. I was, also, not impressed with their indoor display area which used to have the latest Avalon, Camry, Tundra but they only had one car, and it was a used Chevy Corvette....WTH???

Recently picked up a new 2022 Prius Limited. Haven't seen too many people do this but i took those covers off my wheels and what a difference!! In town fuel economy is still 58/63. About to take it on a 680 mile road trip tomorrow to see how it affects highway mileage and if I'll keep the look. Moving from the 15s on my 2020 AWDe was already a big difference for me but seeing the change from covers to no covers makes eveything look even bigger and more filled in the wheel well. 20220610_200003.jpg 20220610_180620.jpg 20220610_180646.jpg

Regular maintenance on wife's 2017 Prius at almost 30,000 miles.
    • Replace oil & filter (Mobil1 & STP extended)
    • Inspect CV boots and other stuff behind the splash shield
    • Rotate tires
    • Exercise caliper slide pins (they were a little sticky, but move freely now)
    • Brake pads look almost new
    • Check fluids — all OK

Small speaker upgrade. It's my first time ever doing an aftermarket sound system and very happy with the results. I haven't lost any space and everything sounds beautiful. I would do a video of the sound, but don't think it would really reproduce what's heard in person. I installed Dynamat and Dynaliner at the same time

Also swapped to black a-pillars. Makes it much more subtle especially when viewing from the outside

Kicker KS speakers in all 6x locations (6.75" component in the front doors, 6.75" coaxial in rear doors, 3.5" in dash corners)
Focal 4 channel amp (150w RMS per channel at 4ohms)
Cerwin Vega 12" powered subwoofer (speaker size is really a 10"). 250w RMS at 4ohms

That powered subwoofer fit a lot better than the Kicker Hideaway 10" I had. The kicker hideaway was 1" longer and interfered with rear floor liner I have and less powerful than the Cerwin.

I'm not looking to win any sound competitions but wanted something a little louder and clearer than stock. IMG_20220625_133737.jpeg IMG_20220625_134849.jpeg IMG_20220614_092049.jpeg IMG_20220614_103533.jpeg IMG_20220614_180715.jpeg IMG_20220625_134801.jpeg
