kind of new to this forum. I was curious to see if I can pull OEM leather seats from an 2006-2009 model and drop it into my 2005 Prius (base model). Has anyone ever done this? I don't want the aftermarket leather covers which I see a lot of people doing in their Uber cars.
Yes. I bought 2 sets of interior seats and installed them in 2008 Prius. But they were not in the best shape. If I keep the car for another few years I’m going to buy Clazzio Leather covers
After I took the advice of @dolj and used shoe dye to remediate mine, they look as good as new. Great leather that’s lasted 15 years.
Does Amazon have a Polish gateway? Many covers there. Also as I understand it, from another post, the leather itself is removable and replaceable with that of another Prius if you find one in a scrap yard for sale.
I’ve not needed to do it as my seats just needed recoloring so I do t know. Other people have. Search Prius Chat for leather seat covering threads. There was a prior discussion on it. There is also some information on being careful you don’t obstruct the airbags.
