Hey all, long time lurker here, first time poster. I've read it quite a few times here, but now it's my time to shine! After buying my car last year with 139,100 miles on it, it finally happened at 176,000 miles, the HV battery went dead. So sad. Anyways, after getting Techstream set up on my computer, I read the codes to see only the P0A80 code with no subcodes. I got connected and retrieved the codes within a couple minutes, but by the time I turned the ignition off, the battery became so dead that not even the door locks would actuate, let alone start the ICE. Here I am sitting at my computer now trying to research a good replacement for the battery for under $2K, is that possible? What companies would you recommend ordering from? And is it worth trying to get an "upgraded lithium battery"?
Check out my profile page for the project lithium link to quickly get one before they run out. I have been running a lithium pack for almost 2 years and all is good.
I had actually just emailed them and the representative told me that their container is stuck in the China ports due to Covid lockdown, says he hopes that they might be in by July. Definitely interested in the lithium batteries, but not sure I want to own a ~2,000 lb brick till July lol.
so, if your door locks don't work, you need to start with the 12 volt battery, then read the codes. iirc, the 2015 c has a jump point under the hood.
If you need to replace the hybrid battery, check out Green Bean Battery | Reconditioned Hybrid Battery Company. They sell refurbished Prius C batteries for $1574.00, which includes installation and a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty. They also offer a lifetime warranty upgrade for an additional $50.00. A real bonus is that they bring the battery to you, at home or at work, and install it wherever you are. The warranty Toyota offers on a new hybrid battery is no better, and you'll have to drop the vehicle off for the day. Definitely worth checking out.
