I received my nexcell prius battery for my 2008 prius. However, I was checking each of the cell's voltage and notice the service cell (the one that has terminals on both sides) has 0 volts. The rest are having 16.45 volts Is the service cell having 0 voltage normal?
Your photos don't indicate how you're connecting to 4 terminals... Are you certain you've connected to them correctly? All the packs are checked right before they get shipped out, so I'd be surprised if there was a failed connection in both modules within that module. Maybe one of them, but not both at the same time.
Yes it is normal as you measure the second set of terminals which are not connected in series and therefore there is no voltage difference. Note there are no plus or minus symbols on top of them. On the other side of the service module you also have no voltage where there is plus minus symbols on top since the service lithium nodule is like two different independent modules not connected. in other words for the service module you will get about 8.23v measuring directly across each and no voltage when you measure side to side.
Hi @vvavepacket , You can connect the other side of the special blade with a cooper bus bar to "simulate the orange service plug connection" and measure the voltage that way. Best, Jack
