I just went to a dealer and they recommended that I replace all four tires. I have a 2015 Prius C. The dealer wants me to pay about $1000 for the tires. I'm pretty sure I can get a better deal than that. I just don't know what tires to look for. I have seen people talk about 195/65R15, 215/45R17, and 175 tires. The dealer said something about 18 inches, maybe? I don't know what size to ask for or what additional bells and whistles I could look out for. Does anyone have thoughts on moving forward on this?
the side of the tire has all the info you need. go to tire rack.com, and you can plug your car in. for that money, it might be worthwhile to get a costco membership, they have great tires and prices.
Standard wheel size is 15” (175/65 R15) and you should be able to find them at half the $1000 price you were quoted elsewhere. I have a Michelin set for winter and Continental TrueContact Tour for all-season. Both sets were around $500 from Discount Tire.
It sounds like they don't want to sell tires. I paid just over $500 for my Yokohamas AND an alignment at the dealer. If they are original tires, just look at the sidewall, as @bisco said and you'll know what size to get. I don't have a c, but I'm pretty sure @Pri3C is right on the size. The tire size should also be somewhere in your manual. Or do something really wild and take a look at the label on the driver's door post for the size and recommended inflation pressure.
With an alignment? Even without, that's pretty good. ($342 at todays rate) My dealer price w/o alignment was similar to getting them unmounted at Tire Rack.
Yes alignment and valves free in uk with 4 tyre change. Admittedly though that was for my (much better imho) Dunlop BluMotion. The “stock” Enasave are £200 each here as they are imported from Asia-pacific. But I like the extra 100m stopping that Blumotion gives me over Enasave in the wet.
