I've read several treads about installing the full size spare in a Gen 4.I was able to get a alloy wheel and tire for a local junk yard.The back foam pieces for the full size spare are expensive and a rare find at a junk yard,Ive found the rear foam pieces for a donut tire and was wondering if anyone can tell me how high the full size spare is above the donut foam deck? TKS
Drop it in and you'll find out? On third gen it doesn't quite fit, rides and inch or two high. Guess it's the width mostly, messing it up. Temp spares fit good.
Haven't purchased the donut foam pieces that is why I;m trying to find out how much higher the tire will be above the foam pieces.
The “space saver” sits flush in the well. The foam pieces go on top to provide a flat surface for the boot.
Thats what I went with the full size spare raised the rear deck about 11/2" and I didn't like it .so picked up a donut tire and everything is level now works great and looks normal.
