Checking in. Have you made any progress? I'm probably going to try the Prius Overlanding spacers on the Matrix Spring (Prius Strut) assembly this week.

No need to argue, used tires can be really nice and save you a lot of money. My last set of tires were 150.00 each, and the used ones I got for my pickup were 30 bucks each, and almost new.

If it's not a big deal, I could use some new tires. Since ya'll seem to think it's not a huge thing to just buy tires, go ahead and send me a set. I'm not going to speak for someone else, but I bet black_jmyntrn would appreciate a set as well. TYIA.

I looked on Costco to see tire prices. The nearest one is three hours away, and I have to sign a membership plan to get tires there. After all the fees, tires are just as expensive as anywhere else. (Lowest I found for my Pri was 140 Each.) Not everyone lives where things are available, and it's pretty crappy to attack someone for such a silly thing IMO.

That is correct. Distance matters. If you’re within their shopping radius, Costco deals are typically the best value especially when you get a nail in the sidewall and they replace the tire for free.

this one time while in college I bought 4 used tires that barely had 1k miles on them since the previous owner replaced new wheels and tires with aftermarket ones. $40 a tire mounted and balanced/

In college, I once won a scratch off lotto ticket. Been trying to do that again but so far no luck.
Amazon and Walmart e-commerce sites are good options to buy new tires anywhere you live.

When did this turn into a thread about tires? Total shit posting.

Used tires, brakes, and suspension can be perfectly fine if professionally inspected and installed.

Just like new suspension, new tires, and new brakes can be deadly if installed by a moron.

Keyboard warriors too busy arguing instead of wrenching-enough already. Sounds like nobody has yet to combine the suspension and spacer lift.

You're right, let me put us back on track with this post.

I have 1000 miles on the Matrix Spring / Prius Offroad Strut topper combo and don't have any issues so far. I will keep reporting back as the build wears in.

I joined the forum just to thank you guys for this thread. It was exactly what I was looking for for my 2005. I ended up buying some generic awd 2009 vibe strut assemblies and using the springs from them. The rear perches were welded on, so I cut them off and slid them onto my new prius struts. The tops were the same for both cars. I used new prius stuff with the vibe springs on the front. As stated before, the vibe struts are not a bolt in replacement for the prius ones. I measured about 1" lift in the front and 1.75" in the rear, but I expect it will settle a little. It rides well, if a little stiff in the rear. I'm really happy so far. It sits noticeably higher, and there are a couple areas I regularly travel that I no longer have to come at sideways. I am running 195/65r15 tires, but will go up when it's time to replace them.

I am all for a DIY route, sure... I have to use a Scion FRS Wheel Bearing & Hub Assembly for the rear of my AWD conversation and a Wilwood BBK for an FRS, but there is no "modifying" it. The modify suspension/brakes personally I tend to stay awa

Are you OK? Did The Rabbit of Caerbannog get you?
In all seriousness, what are your concerns with the matrix spring modification? Or does the concern lie in running both the lift and springs as it puts the suspension out of its factory range of motion?

Interesting statement to make next to a picture of a custom spring.

Other than color and price that spring is very close to the stock AWD Matrix spring. This includes how both fit on the original Prius spring perch.
