Have a 2010 Prius 2 and the keyless entry does not seem to work for the hatch, if the car is locked and you stand at the hatch you can't open it and there no small button on the side of the hatch handle as shown in the owners manual. We were told that is should unlock just by standing near the hatch so am wondering if this is a standard feature of the 2010 Prius 2 or not?
Not - the II only opens the Driver door with proximity feature. Will need to unlock with fob, then find 'dimpled' button in hatch area to press and open.
SHH is correct. Unfortunately, on the 3rd gen, one has to get model IV or above to get 3 door SKS (2 front doors + hatch). See Toyota Vehicles : Toyota Announces Prices for 2010 Prius / Toyota and http://priuschat.com/forums/knowled...andard-optional-equipment-some-countries.html. OP: Who told you? Whoever it was, they were wrong.
Yeah, the Prius II and III have one door SKS. IV and V have 3 door SKS, it's on the Prius website and in Prius nomenclature at the dealer as well. I surely hope it wasn't the dealer who told you this information. Also, please post in the proper forums on Priuschat. This is the Prius v forum, dedicated for the upcoming Prius v. Your question belongs in the 2010 Gen III forums. Thanks.
I realize this is a very old post, but I recently took the 2-button pad from a salvage Prius II in an attempt to upgrade my Prius 1. The second button on the hatch doesn't appear to do anything at all. The wiring harness is three wires on both models of the Prius. I was hoping the second button would unlock the car. So... if that smaller button doesn't unlock the car, what is the purpose of that button?
