We have a G-class 2014 Plugin Prius PHV. It was recently imported into Australia from Japan. It came with every feature inc leather trim and SatNav but the SatNav and radio do not work in Australia so we replaced it with a Sony xav-ax5500 head unit with Android Auto. The installer had some trouble hooking it up and said that non of the wiring looms where standard, anyway he got it all to work but we now have an issue where the mapping from the buttons on the streering wheel to the headunit change when the lights are on or off. They are consistent, but you can either map them with the lights on or off and not both. So it means we drive with the parkers if we want to use the steering wheel controls. Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have heard that there may be a way to change settings on the CAN BUS via dip switches to bring the two into alignment? Any ideas?
Sorry, I have a standard US model, but I've just recently read the G-sport is customized to the max with racing accessories. Which is probably why there were issues installing the new sony head unit. Here's a reference to one of the available G sport suspension mods here at priuschat. I assume they mean the "G" which is the standard high trim level in Japan, not the GR Sports "G's", which was not offered on the Prius PHV.
