I was just looking at Toyota UK's website, and noticed that all variants of the Prius are no longer available, by that self charging or PHEV. A quick Google seems to imply they're no longer going to make them for the UK market, but I'm not sure the sources are reliable. Anyone got any details? EDIT: Found the official source - yep - no longer going to be made for the UK: Toyota Prius Hybrid | Prius News & Updates | Toyota UK
That's a bummer. But they are still selling other hybrids and gassers??? I wonder what happens when Gen5 comes out.
Yeah seems like the other models are still present. Any idea when the Gen6 is due? Is the Gen5 the Prime?
Whoops. No, Prime is a part of Gen4. I meant to write "I wonder what happens when Gen5 comes out." I edited it. No official word on when the Gen5 is due, but I thought the rumor was that it will be out at the end of this year in Japan. So, It may be the 2023 model year? Or They may name it as 2024 model year and release it in mid-2023?
Yup. I posted that recently. They are honouring existing orders but no new orders being processed at the dealers.
Thanks for this pointer! I hadn't realised there was an Estate-like version of this car and this could very possibly be my next purchase!
A fear of them using the Corolla as a base for it is that the door sills will be lower. Bending my neck that much every time I get in or out of a vehicle - one that I bought with my own money - is a no-go. It's a ridiculous design that needs to go away.
Agreed. I bang my head getting in and out of it and it’s predecessor in the UK the Auris. Reminds me of the days in the 80’s with VW if you wanted a practical family car you got the Passat Hatchback if you wanted to bang your head you got a Scirocco. Lol.
