2013 Prius V. Wouldn't start. Neighbor jumped the battery in the rear. (His Prius' battery is under the hood.) I'm getting a new battery at the dealer today since I assume this one is 9 years old. (None of the local auto places would touch it.) However, after it started and I drove it around I noticed no AC. Is this a function of the old battery or an additional problem?
sounds like an additional problem. no connection to the 12v afaik. the a/c is powered by the hybrid battery. no warning lights? does the fan run?
No, nothing. I noticed no lights for AC after the car was jumped. There wasn't an AC issue when I had last driven the car about two days earlier. Maybe something with the AC caused the battery issue. I do love this car but it seems things are going wrong all at once.
Sometimes a bad 12 volt battery can cause all kinds of strange things to happen. I would replace the 12 volt battery and so what it’s doing alter the replacement.
Hold down the AUTO and FRESH/RECIRC buttons while powering the car on, then watch for any two-digit codes appearing in the HVAC display (after it is done testing all the display segments). You can post those codes here.
Be sure the ac is on. Normally the ac resumes from the last settings, however the system will be off after a power fail. The ac button on the right also has to be on.
