Humm, 2hrs 40 with the 120v? Mine takes 6hrs 10min with the 120v. And every PP comes with an 8.8kWh battery.

Sorry, I smell a little BS here from the OP. There is no 8 KWh option. There is no model four Prius Prime. And they all take more than five and a half hours to fully charge from 120V.

I believe he hasn't run the batteries "dry". My commute is 30 miles and I'm usually on ICE for the last 5+ miles. As it's warming up around here, I was able to get home without the ICE kicking on yesterday. Feathered the brakes on my down hill portions of my commute M/KWH is in the high 4's; up from the mid to low 3's this last winter. I don't know how some of you can get 5+ M/KWH - I've only been able to achieve that a handful of times. I can get mid to high 4's consistently in spring, summer, and fall.
Any hoo; I can barely get a full charge on 110VAC in 4.5 hrs.. The third lamp is still blinking on the dashboard, when I unplug - but the dash states 100% charge. Sometimes it'll read 99%; so I think 1 hr. 50 min full charge on 220VAC is achievable. I know that the charger can still pack more electrons into my batteries, but I'm on TOU. I could probably adjust my shift to give that battery more time to charge, but then I'll be running into traffic. That's why I opted for a hybrid rather than a limiting BEV.

You think that's fast, check out my charging speed at home, 11.2 kW! Too bad that's not a Prime plugged in. Screenshot_20220402-214859.jpg

The 1h 50m sounds correct. That's the time it takes for mine to go from a couple miles remaining to full, using L2 charging.

I have also charged at 120v 8a usng the supplied charging cord and it did take over 6 hours and some odd number of minutes.

It’s 6 hours 10 min for me 90 percent of the time.

if I charge during the day in the sun I usually get over 31 miles. If at night just under 29.5

In my first winter (in Quebec), at this setting, it has taken up to 8hrs 40mins to fully charge (-25C temps).

    No, you're just mistaken.
    Here's some help:
A: know what you're actually talking about
B: pay the f$^@ attention to the details I listed.

OK, I think I now understand what you did. You must be using the OEM L1 EVSE at 240v at 12A, which took 2hr 40min to charge from empty to full. Now you have a dedicated L2 EVSE running at 240V 16A which takes only 1hr 50min to charge from empty to full. Of course, an 8.8kWh battery is not an "option". Every PP comes with it.

You want me to quote the details you listed? Here they are: "...up from 2hrs 40 with the 120V!!"
and "I have the 8kwh battery option btw"
I do know the difference between 120V and 240V, I know there is no such thing as the 8kwh battery option, and if you want to call your PP a model four, go ahead; it shows you are either careless or ignorant.

You're definitely not a mechanic or an electrician.
You said I was full of BS--an insult--instead of just saying " I'm not understanding"
Now you're accusing me of being ignorant?
    Let's recap:
"I am running a 240v circuit and using a 240v 16a charger... my charge time is now 1 hrs 50 min.!!, up from 2hrs 40 with the 120v!!
I have the 8kwh battery option btw"

I've already clarified that its actually 8.8 (not much difference). I think you definitely have comprehension issues.. and you're hypocritical and rude... I'm so done with you!!

I was actually using the charger that came with it which was only a 120v (if I'm not mistaken) then recently switched to a 240v 16a, hence the 50 min. charging difference

The "charger" that came with the car is the OEM L1 EVSE. It is meant to be plugged into a 120v outlet to operate at 120v 12A, but I think what I, and others alike, did not understand was that you must have been using it on a 240v outlet with an adaptor. Hense your statement "up from 2hrs 40 with the 120v." This made many to scratch their heads, including me. If the charging was carried out at 120v, it would have taken you much longer than 2hrs 40... More like 5hr 50min to 6hr 10min in normal condition.

I have a level 2 also, 2 hrs seems right. It's kind of slow for the range, DC fast charge would be a huge plus in the future
