The correct level is achieved by filling till it comes back out, with the car level. You probably are close, but it is SO much easier, with car raised and level.

I done my partners gen2 a couple weeks back :)

    It took 3.6L

I was happy to use valvoline maxlife as edthefox made me aware the motor generators are not submerged in fluid in gen2

    Hi Patrick,
How many miles do you change the transmission oil? The last oil that I use and I want to replace is the one you told me to buy at the Toyota dealer. Thanks,

I would change the oil after the first 30K miles; then every 60K miles beyond the initial change.

AWSOME work Jeff. Thank you so much for sharing. I've been digging through this forum for an hour trying to find USEFUL information. Yours is great. I had researched this at some point a long time ago....after changing my original WS ATF fluid with Redline D6 at about 60,000 miles. Factory oil looked kinda ugly, and I was glad I changed it. Somehow, I had a note to just change it every 60k miles, but then I wrote another note to myself (I think more recently) "Did research on Prius Chat. No need to change ever again." I don't write something like this lightly. I research the F%$& out of things, and I have a chemistry degree and manage many types of piston aircraft engines. So I'm no slouch. Just trying to find out if I'm going to change the ATF fluid again now (I last changed it at 96k and I'm at 160k) and your data will help me decide. I might, possibly, skip it completely, and forever. Not certain, but pretty sure I'm only going to put another 30-60k on this car (moving away from US hopefully), and thus not sure it's worth bothering to change it since I've done two D6 changes, and the Redline should easily last 100k. Meh, we'll see. Just wanted to thank you for putting up actual data. Appreciate that very much.
