I'm not so sure if this is useful to you all, but today I counted 52 Prii in the East San Francisco Bay Area   . This is an example of how many Prii there are. If you have ever counted Prii, how many have you counted?
I haven't counted per day, but today at the mall one was two spaces away from me to the left, and another was one row ahead of me. And the parking lot was pretty empty, too.
I can tell you from experience here at work: there are 2 others that park in my lot, one more in the next lot over, at least 3 on the other side of the building, at least 4 in the parking garage, and another 3-4 down the hill... and there are still some lots i haven't even looked at yet
Round my way they are still pretty rare - I might see 1 or 2 a week ! Having said that I was in the vicinity of a dealer the other day and for a moment we were 3 Prii together. Because they are so few and far between, whenever I see another one I flash my lights, wave and toot the horn - we are, after all, Brethren of the Prii ! Sometimes I get a flash response or a wave back and that's great - the brotherhood lives - but sometimes I get completely ignored or a stare that says "Are you Mad ?" British Reserve - eh what ?
Here in Northern Virginia, I see 5-10 a day during the week, and vastly more on the weekends. Clearly it is a popular commuting car, as it should be. The only time we actually count is when we're entering our church parking lot. Lately there have been about 9 or 10 every Sunday. The kids have become very good at Prius-spotting, even the Gen 1 Prii. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(orionll @ Nov 10 2006, 12:24 AM) </div>
In Denver I am seeing about 5 to 8 per day. My 9 year old son has been keeping track while he is in the car with me. He is running a tally. Just got a call from my dealer, our 2007 Touring is due in NEXT WEEK!!!!!! Looks like we will be the FIRST on the block with one. "Yes Smithers, our plan is coming together" - Mr. Burns Cannot wait.
I commute every day on I66 against the rush hour. I66 is HOV only in the rush hour direction, except that hybrids are exempt. I see far too many going the other way to count. Easily a hundred a day or more.
I've seen three in my parking garage. There are four in a neighborhood I travel to, but so far, I think I'm the only one in my little part of the world.
Was a nice day today, decided to walk downtown (about a 15 minute walk). Between walking there, having lunch, running errands, and walking back, I counted four Prii (five, if you count my own that I walked past). And no, I didn't count any twice.
See the same five or six in daily commuting and around town, with an additional five or six each weekend around the regional shopping centers in our northern NY micropolitan area.
