Just drove from NM to CA with some weight in the car. This is when the creaking began. Creaking underneath of car occurs when I slowly turn the wheel to park or reverse into a parking spot, as well as when I slowly go over a speed bump. Coming from the under carriage. Prius 2014 4 with 48K mileage. What should I have my mechanic check? I don’t want to get ripped off. Should I take it to the dealer, or is a local mechanic ok? What could be causing this? Is this an expensive repair? Thank you.
Thanks for replying to my question. Ended up taking it to the dealer this morning, and they said that they can’t find anything wrong.
Thank you for your help. The dealership mechanic said that he put it on the lift, and everything looks good. I guess that if they could’ve found something, they would have been happy to charge me? They said that the creaking is normal. Do you by any chance know where I can buy a master switch for the rear passenger window for less $? Dealer wants to charge $800. Seems very high. Can I get a used one somewhere? The window will go down, but won’t go back up. Thanks so much.
Dealer mechanic said that he can’t find anything wrong. I guess that if he could have, he would have been happy to charge me for a repair.
