I just waxed my car with Nufinish, and thank you all for the recommendations. Zaino was a bit out of my price range. Check out this bee-yoo-tiful shine/reflection: [attachmentid=5654]

Anyway, while working on it today, I noticed about nine big ol' dents in my roof. We're having lots of acorn issues here...anyone else?

Yep, the roof seems very soft, and we have very large Oaks all along the street. The Acorns get up quite a head of steam from that height, and the squirrels seem to have exceptional aim.

Neither my previous vehicle nor my wife's car ever gets dents from them.

But, the Prius has quite a few dimples up there. I just hope they act like Golf Ball dimples to help areo :)

I don't know if one of the suction dent removal services could deal with it or not, and it is kind of depressing. Fortunately the paint doesn't seem to crack. It's just odd that the roof is SO VERY soft. I guess it's probably a weight thing.

I didn't notice it on my previous vehicles, either, but they were much taller, so I didn't see the roof that often. Oh well...a soft roof is only the second thing I don't like about my Prius (the first being the upholstery). Thanks for the validation!

    Looks great...
Where in VA? I'm in Midlothian and your pic looks like it could have been taken in my driveway, oak leaves and acorns everywhere! Fortunately, I get to garage mine to keep it safe from the pummeling. We haven't figured out why there were som many acorns this season, but many people in my neighborhood have commented on it. Must have something to do with the mild summer we had.

I'm in Midlo, too, right off of Old Buckingham. No wonder it looks similar! (Glad to know it's not just the squirrels in my neighborhood conducting guerilla warfare against me...)

This problem has nothing to do with soft or thin metal on your roof. I'm in Knoxville Tennessee right now, at my daughters house. She has a 2000 Mercedes E320, whose "sheetmetal" resembles a tank compared to a Prius. The metal on the roof, hood, and trunk must have over 100 little dents from acorns dropping on them. Of course, the have a good headstart. The Oaks surrounding the driveway have 3 foot diameter trunks and must be more than 100 feet high.

I think they are hoping for a hail storm next spring. LOL

I've taken great pains in 11 months of ownership to keep my car free of door dings, with success. I never imagined my first ding (a few weeks ago) would be a roof ding! I suspected an acorn was the culprit, and this thread has validated my suspicion.

Howdy, neighbors! This must be a Midlothian thing. I'm near Manchester High School. (I realize the purists will say that's not really Midlothian. But I have a Midlothian zip, so I'm claiming Midlothian.) Maybe Haley Toyota should issue a warning when they sell a Prius. :)

Damn acorns!!! And I'm not a Midlo purist...do people really do that? (And I got mine from Haley, too!)
