You all do know that there are impurities in the air used to react with the hydrogen that can also "poison" the catalytic stack.

I knew that but was too polite to cite the obvious. Worse, it might suggest I have/had any interest in the technology, But it begs the question if 'coal rolling' is a risk ... batteries are immune.

Are typical gas cylinders below that?
There's a difference between a trace amount in the air from ICE cars, and the fuel hydrogen itself being laced with it. A carbon filter on the air intake would probably capture much of the air contaminates.

PEM fuel cells in cars have a short life. They might good 90k miles with an average voltage drop. Poisoning likely plays a part. They'd likely degrade faster with dirtier hydrogen.

"Typical" gas cylinders is an amorphic term. For diving purposes at work & for sport - I broke up a set of cylinders used for scuba referred to as "twin 38's". Small & convenient for crawling through tight spaces underwater at Disney - as well as having a decent amount of time underwater. Each was only rated at Max of 1,800 PSI. We've come a long way since the 1960's tank cylinder tech. As substances like carbon fiber & the strength of alloys continue to increase, as well as compressors ability to compress ... who knows how ridiculous High pressures may get. Kind of makes one want to cringe. And if those pressures are in a car? No thanks.

I was referring to the ones seen in a lab or industrial setting. They still use steel for those.

We have a lot of Mirais in the LA area. Before the supply-chain issues, a single dealer had about 80 of them in stock. Currently, there are only 32 in stock in the LA area, which is still many more than the Prius Prime.

That isn't a good sign in today's car market.

The only Toyota for which there is a shortage is the Prius Prime, and that's because of the high gasoline prices. You can find any other model easily. For example, there are 224 gas-guzzler new 2022 Tacomas in the LA area.

With 3 years or $15k in in fuel and large incentives, shouldn't the Mirai be moving better?

There is only 20 Tacomas available in the northeast Philly area.

50 public, with 9 under construction and 64 more funded. The 50 have been unreliable.

2 in the orlando area but I believe these are private.

That will make it run, but you need to deal with the new battery being compatible with the regenerative braking.
