Prius engine is rattling and hesitating...

That was his last posting, about 2.5 years back. I'm sceptical the revised intake does anything besides lighten your wallet by over $200. It certainly doesn't heal a failing head gasket. Also, 2012's maybe have the revised manifold?

My idea is to start checking SIMPLE solutions 1st than start taking engine apart.

I revise car status:

NO COOLANT LOSS, OR BAD COLOR
NO MISFIRE, ON IDLE AND ACCELERATING.
NO ENGINE ERROR CODES
DROVE YESTERDAY A FEW MILES, VERY SLOW; SO SLOW MOST OF IT WAS ELECTRIC. CAR DRIVES FINE
OIL LEVEL OK, DIPSTICK COLOR OK.
YESTERDAY BEFORE DRIVING put a can of liqui moly for lifters noise. Have to drive it to make effect
ONLY PROBLEM IS CONTINUES NOISE AS PER VIDEO, NO CHANGES

AS PER SUGGESTIONS IN THIS CHAT, LEANING ON LIFTERS PROBLEM.

ANYWAY PRIOR WORKING ON LIFTERS WILL START

EGR CIRCUIT CLEANNING, ANYWAY I HAVE TO DO IT. 70.000 miles
CHANGE OIL FILTER, PUT A NEW ONE LAST WEEK BUT MAYBE IS CLOGGED AND IS SIMPLE TO DO.

Any more update on your Prius. I have a 2014 Prius with the death rattle. I have no loss of coolant and I have cleaned out the intake manifold and also the Erg valve. It rattles only when it’s from a cold start. If I accelerate before it runs a cycle it won’t do the death rattle. Every once in a while it will hesitate when turning a corner.
