Only LE trim has Android Auto. The 11" screen on the XLE and Limited trims only supports Apple Carplay.

There are some dongles you can buy that are little android PCs that'll trick the system into thinking it's an iphone running carplay so you can get android auto like features.

I know at least 1 person who reported success using it with their new '22 Prime with the 11" screen. He posted in a Prime owner Facebook group with photos.

In regards to recent discussion on Facebook Prius Prime Owners Group. Looks like it only works if PP has ApplyCar Play. So, 2020 and newer PPs.

 

That's true. The device won't be able to add carplay or Android Auto if your head unit doesn't already support Carplay.

It can add Android Auto to the big 11" screen by convincing the head unit it's an apple device connected through carplay. How long apple and/or Toyota may support a workaround like that remains to be seen.
