Hello, My Prius, 2010 Blizzard Pearl, III, some mod, 110K, some mods, original owner. It didn't bother me until the heavy built up smog and dirt that I noticed and really care about. Does anyone know what is that patch?, guard, extra something strip on the bottom end of each back door and rear near the fender are? I googled and searched through there and here with those terms and nothing came up. Maybe I'm just over caring, maybe its not important at all (was for the last 12 years), but I'm kind of old (early 40s) and gives a xxxx now! There are a ton of these Gen 3 Prius of various years on the street and each car have it, don't or partial has (either the door ones or the fender ones). It not seem to be for aerodynamics, not no side skirts, does not give a clean flush side look of this model. Thanks, much appreciate if any Gen 3 owners now.
yeah, we all have it, but i'm not sure if it has ever been defined. it's less noticeable on my blue, you don't see a black outline.
I thought of that to prevent road debris, but its really a small covered surface. And the long thin strip, that can hardly prevent projectiles.
One purpose seems to be to collect grunge along the edge? If some brave soul want to peel that off, and post how that went, I'd be all ears.
