Just pulled the pack due to persistent P0A80 and P0312 codes and tested each cell unloaded / loaded with a headlight bulb 1 - 7.86 /6.77 2 - 7.84/ 6.76 3 - 7.75 /6.58 4 - 7.82 /6.73 5 - 8.47 /7.09 6 - 8.48 /7.09 7 - 8.45 /7.07 8 - 8.46 /7.08 9 - 8.45 /7.08 10 - 8.46/ 7.07 11 - 8.46 /7.08 12 - 8.46 /7.08 13 - 8.46 /7.08 14 - 8.46 /7.08 15 - 8.47 /7.08 16 - 8.46 /7.08 17 - 8.47 /7.08 18 - 8.44 /7.06 19 - 8.45 /7.07 20 - 8.46 /7.08 21 - 8.46 /7.08 22 - 8.48 /7.09 23 - 8.47 /7.10 24 - 8.46 /7.09 25 - 8.46 /7.09 26 - 8.45 /7.08 27 - 8.46 /7.09 28 - 8.46 /7.10 From what i see i have cells 1-4 need replacement then i probably need to balance them. was looking at iSDT Q8 BattGo 500W 20A High Power Battery Balance Charger Discharger for 1-8S Lipo Battery for RC Transmitter from amazon. What do you all think? Am i on the right track? Just trying to get this thing working properly so we can sell it. Thanks, Paul
Not necessarily, there is no leaked electrolyte around their terminals? I would check capacity of first 5 modules, fifth as reference of "good" module.
As far as appearance, all look in perfect condition, no leakage or bulging that i can see. Corrosion around all the buss bars though so that needs to be cleaned up for sure. Think i might get away with a few discharge / charge cycles on it?
There should be another HV battery related code with P0A80 which would say more precisely what is wrong, I suspect interface and software you use is not able to fetch all codes. P0312 is misfire code not related to HV battery at all. Chances are very low that rebalancing will fix the battery, it is very common that packs fails first at the ends of battery.
Don’t forget to pull the battery ecu Take it’s cover off check all the plugs and Plug sockets for corrosion.
Typo on the code. It was P3012. Ordering replacement modules this weekend along with the charger / discharger unit. Should get me on the road again and in sellable condition. Gotta take advantage of the crazy used car prices.
