    Looks like the same 17" rims as gen 4, with a different styled plastic inserts, ugh...

    No interior shots?

    Unfortunately, Toyota is good at security. It is not just the look. Will it have "next gen hybrid system? If so, what improvements? Etc.

    If it really is released in December in Japan, there should be a reveal of some sort sometime in the fall.

    yeah the prius needs more HP. It’s noticeable on road trips when going up grades or passing people. It needs between 15-20 HP more which can be done without sacrificing too much

    I can see them making like a sport GR Prius where they’re using the sport version of corolla hybrid motor so it’s not something exclusive to just the Prius. Definitely a limited edition thing.

    We have two Gen 4's and would like to see a few improvements/additions:
    -Go ahead and have an EV Prius...it's time to give Tesla some real competition!
    -Increase the traction battery so the Primes have at least 100 miles ranges
    -In the AWD models, raise up the car 2-3 inches to help out those of us who drive in the snow
    -Add some real XLE stuff in the XLE models...heated/cooling seats, leather options, etc. People would be willing to pay more this stuff.
    -Get rid of the 1950's hood rod and put struts in there...or have that as an option like the Camry's do.
    -Make a smaller sportier model...not all of us need 4 doors

    I've been wanting a C with a plug ever since I test drove a C in 2012. Salesman gripped No Way when I mentioned it during the drive. We can always dream though.
    The idea hasn't gotten a warm reception in this forum either. too small to make it efficient, less aerodynamic, etc.
    I think it's actually too expensive to make a smaller car with a plug becasie it's easier to get more $ by building a bigger one appealing to more buyers. Everyone seems to want to buy bigger and bigger cars. Or as some like to refer to them Land Barges ..

    The big problem is - for added range, you add weight. And it then costs money to drive around. Oh, and takes space for a much larger battery - either no spare tyre, or smaller boot - or both.

    So than it's not as noticeable in a larger car. I get that. It still doesn't stop me from wanting one, weight and cargo space, what's that when it go go electric like. Leafs are getting bigger too, but they're still kinda smallish. I can be done, but it wouldn't sell in large enough numbers in this country to make it worth while. Which is why I'm driving a bigger car than I'd like for a daily driver.

    Too late for that. They removed the spare and shrank the boot in 2017 when they introduced the Prime.

    Granted, a newer tech battery would have higher energy density, but quadrupling the range will still necessitate a tremendous increase in size and weight. 100 miles would essentially be a low end EV that's lugging around an ICE and gas tank. And, there would be practically no storage space without a total redesign. I guess you could make it a two-seater. :D

    That's the trouble with all plugins and EVs IMO, they're great to charge at home and drive around town but everyone wants 300 mi range "in case" and therefore a big, heavy, expensive battery.

    The word "want" is what you are looking for. That desire for more is valid too, but clearly not a necessity.

    It takes a strong reason to justify sacrifice though. Remember, this is just one one many hybrids serving very diverse consumer need.

    If 300 mile range is what "everyone wants" and is "the problem", then how does one reconcile that there are millions of EV owners now days that bought their EV without the 300 Mi range "problem". Perhaps one might consider how small that ratio of 300 mile range electric cars is currently?

    I mainly want the car's body shape to be improved for highway driving.....achieving a .20 drag coefficient rather than the present .24. A larger fuel tank that holds 15 gals. would be fantastic....

    Can you imagine trying to avoid a big rock in the street with 3 different Wheel places to hit it? Then similarly difficult - going into a fast food takeout line & having to be stuck far away from the server because you're wheel booms stick out so far.
