Selling my trusty 2009 Toyota Prius! It's been with us since 2014, purchased from a dealer in Beaumont, TX at about 96,000 miles. It's a Touring with package 5, so lots of the bells and whistles for its time. In December 2020 the catalytic converter was stolen, so has a relatively new one as well as a shield - no trouble since then although it's mostly been parked in a garage. The only mechanical thing we've experienced with it has been a cooling pump which went at an inopportune time (replaced at the dealer and no problems since) and we got new HID headlights in about 2017/2018, so they should keep going and going. Still the original hybrid battery. First owner serviced it religiously at the Beaumont dealership, we've similarly kept it well serviced although at garages rather than the dealership for the most part. Greg's Japanese Auto has been our go-to for the past few years. There are a few scratches and chips in the paint on the hood - it's a well-travelled one . No rust! It's now at 187,526 miles and seems to be going strong! Two new tires that were replaced through the Costco warranty (Seattle potholes and recent snow), the other 2 still have good tread on them so was advised not to replace. We have a newborn hence a new car (wanting updated safety features and what have you), and that's also why we're selling through an auction house to reduce covid exposure risks and because we have basically no capacity for things right now. Here's the listing: 'prius' | 2009 TOYOTA PRIUS | James G. Murphy Co.. I'd love the car to go to someone who will care for it and keep it running and running! Happy to answer any questions about it! I of course think it's a gem, it's been a wrench to part with. I checked the rules on posting here and didn't think that linking to an auction contravened them, but so sorry if it does!
Yeah, it's been a great one for us! It's at auction as we didn't have the capacity to sell ourselves. Currently it's at $2,700, and I was told to expect around the $4-5,000 mark as a baseline based on previous sales. It closes tomorrow!
