My '22 Prime came with the homelink rear-view mirror. I'm interested in swapping that out with this: https://www.bamwholesaleparts.com/oem-parts/toyota-genuine-toyota-frameless-homelink-mirror-pt374-00210-oem-pt37400210 Has anyone attempted this and is it plug-and-play?
Ok so that version is apparently battery powered and with a non-replaceable battery. I did find this over at the RAV4World forums: https://parts.gatewaytoyota.ca/oem-parts/toyota-auto-dimming-rearview-mirror-with-homelink-pk64342he0 I wonder if it would be plug-and-play with the Prius...
For what it's worth, this is what I'm currently using. NAPOLEX Broadway BW866 300mm (11.81") Flat Aluminum Plating Mirror
I have one of those too that I kept from my previous car. I haven't put it on my Prime though because the Homelink buttons are on the front of the mirror instead of underneath.
In case anyone is interested, here are pictures of the factory HomeLink mirror that comes with the 2022 Prime Limited: It looks like the harness goes into the arm that the mirror is attached to then into the mirror's housing. There's a person on the RAV4World forums that says he can compare the connector from that Toyota wired, frameless version to see if the connectors and wiring are the same.
Switched or constant power is available from the harnesses on the mounting plate. I did not ring out the wires when installing my dash cam, as the company provided the necessary harness adapter. The cover is easily removable and, once off, will allow access to check voltage states. Find what ya' need then splice to it... easy-peeezy. But WHY go through all this to merely replace an existing Home-Link mirror with one sans-front buttons?
Not going to if I have to splice or run new wires. That's why I'm posting all of this. I'm hoping someone else has that frame-less mirror and can verify whether the connectors are the same (so I can use the one from the stock mirror).
