Yep, I removed the stud and left it off when I swapped in the EGR cooler I cleaned ahead of tackling the job. Won't need to worry about it next time. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
@Mendel Leisk This has been happening since my original engine. I was getting low 42mpg no matter how well I took care of it. Then once I put the Lithium HV battery in there was a gain and the mpgs went to normal oem specs of 52 mpgs. Now with the rebuild, it is already factory mpgs plus the extra 10 mpg gain from the Dr. Prius battery. http://www.RedBullet.net Toyota hybrid battery upgrade pack– NexPower Energy http://www.Pulstar.com http://www.PlugOutPower.com Use code 7373 http://www.hybridpit.com use code azusa
Hybrit Pit sent me pictures of my original engine that was replaced with a fresh rebuild. They will be rebuilding it for someone else now. Meanwhile my engine is doing 60mpg no problem. http://www.RedBullet.net https://ProjectLithium.com/?ref=mG0GE http://www.Pulstar.com http://www.PlugOutPower.com Use code 7373 http://www.hybridpit.com Use code azusa http://CatStrap.net Use code azusa
Mine was about $5k with complete egr and IM cleaning. Also other random parts replaced. The engine is like new and I watch the temps all the time. I can not complain about anything as of now.
Thank you. That's roughly the estimation that they gave me. It's also not that far off from the price of just a head gasket replacement at the dealership, so I think it's the option I need to go with.
That is the reason I went with them, cost not that much more than HG replacement so why not get a fresh build? The assurance that the engine is rebuilt and clean. 2015 pistons & rings too cant go wrong.
I have seen rebuilds here in Texas for $3500 with the dealer quoting $5k-$7.5k depending on reuse of block or new shortblock. Of course since the border was closed prices are beginning to rise.
I'll go ahead and confirm this to be true. There is some torque. I had a race with a hybrid rav4 and walked it. I just dont know if that driver was in full ev mode or not but their engine has more hp though.
Prius V going in for surgery! This was a head gasket Job but played it safe by pulling out the whole engine just in case it was bent rods. Car was towed to the Shop with 150k We took a pic of the Hoses that needed to be replaced. Glad the Customer gave us the thumbs up to replace!
@RightOnTime How about engine mounts? I noticed some kind of mount on the bottom rear of engine when I had the subframe dropped that looked otherwise hard to replace.... REVVL V+ 5G ?
