I don't think they live in the same state as you.

Are we only speaking of conserving water on a state-by-state basis, and not in the arid ones?

Making less poop water that needs to be processed then discharged creating contaminated algal blooms is a problem nationwide

Because I have control over my own us. I don’t have control over other people’s use.
    I can influence it though.

    For example, I can:

    A) Show up and voice my concerns at PUC meetings.
    B) Present data about policies and their effects.
    C) Support organizations that do A and B if I don’t want to.
    D) Write letters/emails to my state reps.

Opening up hydrants isn’t going to stop wasteful use elsewhere, it just worsens the problem.

With a 15 years grandfathered clause, I am safe for now. My home will be sold before that. And maybe move out of this state with my money from bloated home price.

There are conversations of ripping the solar panels off grid. So they become regular customers again. Their solar panels will be rewired with batteries to never see the utility line for part of the house. Don't ask me how, this is all talk right now. But from some of those "experts", it could be possible.

Which sucks for the neighborhood. That means ulities cannot use home solar panels to supplement the neighborhood anymore, and rely on the grid even more.
