<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(efusco @ Nov 8 2006, 08:59 AM) </div> Some AOL pop-up??? Now that's just wrong. <_< I refuse to load a Mozilla ActiveX Plugin . . . so I guess I'll have to forgo seeing the Kissing Test Prank . . . and the other associated pop-ups and security vulnerabilities too.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Wildkow @ Nov 8 2006, 12:05 PM) </div> But bias in which direction?
It is just wrong... those girls should have freedom of choice in which primate to kiss... orangutan, Gorilla, Neanderthal...
That was bad, how about this, the kids using a water hose. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrUNINh2ijA This is the worst Ive seen so far (nothing R rated) just bad prank done by a radio station.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2Hb3GFWVfY Its strange these people get so mad then act like it was nothing when they find out its on TV... Hmm, this will probibly open the PETA group responces..
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eagle33199 @ Nov 8 2006, 09:22 AM) </div> Democrat.
What's most wrong about that is that if you know about chimpanzees used in entertainment, these ones were stolen permanently from their mothers, likely live in intense confinement and receive brutal "training," and there's a good chance they will end up isolated in a roadside zoo or research lab when they become older and unmanageable. http://www.friendsofwashoe.org/in_entertainment.shtml http://www.janegoodall.ca/chimps/conservat...tertainment.php http://www.animalsvoice.com/PAGES/writes/e...imps_enter.html http://www.neavs.org/programs/brochures/brochures_chimp.htm These animals deserve a lot better than this.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Etel Rose @ Nov 8 2006, 12:54 PM) </div> That's the thing. By devaluing life, we're then able to exploit it much more easily (and with far less guilt, for some reason.) It's funny, too, how we seem to derive so much pleasure from seeing chimps mimic human behavior...but then become all bent out of shape when any actual link is suggested... What's up with that? Is this lauging 'with' them, or lauging 'at' them...? I'd humbly suggest the latter. I'm going to go out on a limb now and say something inflammatory: I wonder if Creationists tend to laugh 'at' chimps immitating human behavior more than non-Creationists, as a way of reaffirming to themselves how different humans are from all other forms of animal life...? Just a thought.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Etel Rose @ Nov 8 2006, 09:54 AM) </div> The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. GHANDI We are neither great nor moral
While I agree that abusing animals for our amusement is reprehensible (and I do not eat meat) and the public humiliation of the girls was reprehensible as well, I have to say that the video of the girls kissing the chimps was both creepy and hilarious. I wonder if they used girls instead of guys as the subjects for humiliation because a guy might have slugged the MC. After all, they could have done it either way.
