Been here 14 years. Back in the day there were hundreds of posts about G2s with dead 12s routinely getting blown up by AAA tow truck jumps.
I don’t think they were reversed jumped I think this car does not deal well with huge inrush current from a dead 12.

A totally zero volt dead 12 volt presents basicly a dead short to its jump source. It gets 0 volt by leaving an interior light on which kills the battery and holds it dead shorted for a long time. If it’s jump source is a AAA tow truck……look out.
Huge instantaneous inrush with no limitation. Really easy way to destroy a G2 a really complicated electronics car and very difficult to repair.

If you have to let your G2 sit for a while open the trunk take the cargo plate out to get to the 12 volt battery then remove the red plastic plate off the top of the battery then remove the 2 power leads from the 12 volt battery. There really easy to remove get little straight blade screwdriver hold there little white lock levers down on there white clips and pull out.
Once those 2 leads are removed the battery is completely removed from the car and will be ok fir a long time if a healthy battery.

Then don’t slam the hatch put a thick cloth over the lock hole and gently set the hatch down so it dies not lock.

make sure the front door mechanical key lock is well lubricated too.

What? It will only draw as many amps as needed. The rating of a jump starter is just the amount of amperage that it can safely supply if the load demands it.
