Biggest disappointment: No Prius v variant.

The Gen 3 drove like a model T. The Gen 4 Touring 4 is superior in ride and comfort. Mileage is much better too!

    I've never driven a model T.

I have. No, the Gen 3 is ride is no way as bad ad the Model T. The Model has the ride of a Western buckboard or covered wagon with no shocks.

The Gen 3 ride is just fine. Then again, I have custom bracing, which they added in the Gen 4.

I've never driven one of those either.

You had a gen 3, then gen 4 touring? Was the gen 3 a "touring" level?

We test drove a non-touring 2010, then a tourning. The latter definitely felt more sure/solid/planted. Bought that one.

We never had a Gen 3 but my wife's 2017 Gen 4 (Prius 2) is still going strong. We've only noticed a slight difference in those bright LED headlights getting dimmer and since I spray all of our headlights yearly with the MeGuiar's headlight coating, they aren't yellowing or becoming cloudy at all.
The only "problem" was about a year in when I went to replace the windshield wipers...aftermarkets just do NOT fit, even if they say they do. So I put the old OEM factory wipers back up and now just buy replacement blades at the dealership. (Around $12 each) But they seem to last us a couple of years.
MPG's in the 2017 has gone down a bit but only around 6-8 mpg. I suspect brakes/rust and just normal traction battery degeneration.

    I have both......for myself, the Gen 4 is better/nicer in every respect (it's called progress)......EXCEPT for in/cabin engine/road noise, the Gen 4 is noticeably a bit louder.......the Gen 3 is a 2010 & the Gen 4 is a 2017, both trim level 2's, FWIW......

The Gen 4 is quieter than the Gen 3 for me. The extra information you gave definitely helped as the Two (and I think Two Eco) lack the sound absorption material in the firewall area.

Also, Four/Limited models include acoustic front door glass for an even quieter front seat experience compared to the Gen 3.

    Cons:
-Less storage space in trunk and glovebox, less storage place inside car.
-GPS map has confusing amount of colors, and way worse controls. Zooming must be done
via an obscure button for instance
-Ergonomics in general much worse. Many controls are done with no tactile feedback, this makes it
difficult to use during driving. Dashboard in gloomy black that reflects sun in some directions.
-GPS destination is silly, must state city and the street ( instead of freetext done in earlier models.
-less feetspace in backseat, in general less roomy
    - no GPS directions in HUD
    - strange autopark where some of the good features are gone.
-less adjustable driver seat ( no height adjustment)
-adjustments/ config done at several independent places with no particular logic

    pros:
    -considerably better consumption
    -now has adaptable cruise control
-better/more sensors and functions, s.a. lane assist, clearence warnings during parking
    -better road handling
    -auto dimming of headlights
    - voice control much better
    - included speed camera map and warning

( all comparations done on executive version )

A lot of these are trim specific quirks I guess. Blame Toyota UK for making weird choices? My reference is mostly NZ-new and JDM models but.... my Gen 4 JDM "A" trim has heigh adjustment on the seat. My dad's US Gen 3 Two does not - but that makes sense. The NZ-new GX Touring trim I test drove had GPS in the HUD. Although I will agree that the OEM JBL head unit is extremely clunky to use, the touch buttons are just bad, and the built in nav has 2012 Garmin vibes. My JDM "A" has a HUD, but no nav, although that purely has to do with my aftermarket head unit. Also I have park assist (assume that's what you meant by autopark) - supports parallel park and unpark and back-in. What is missing for you? Again - my dad's US-spec G3 Two don't got none.

As far as interior space - I find the G4 to be roomier in the front than the G3. Can't comment too much on the rears. The piano black around the center stack can go to hell. I do find that the black/white (but especially the panda) interior to be more pleasant than the all-black.

The autopark function in G3 was much more intelligent then the autopark in G4. G3 could use the lines
on the parking place to park, G4 uses only cars parked at the sides. G3 gave the user a
choice to adjust the parking position, G4 does not.

About the G4 GPS, why clutter the map with lots of colors ? They does not make the map
easier to read. The color for "current track" is the same as for rivers.
Looking for POI like petrol stations gives a list without any clue if the poi is in the direction
or not, G3 showed them on the map.

That said, i do find G4 to be a good car to drive with excellent fuel economy.
